Choreolite with Amanda Burbaker & Henri Hwi
A WCS Choreography Workshop for Beyond-Beginners
Saturday, March 14th, 3:00-6:00 pm
We're thrilled for the return of Choreolite to DFD with instructors Amanda Burbaker and Henri Hwi!
The song of choice: Give It Up by Berywam!
Structure: Learn the choreo, practice the choreo, perform the choreo in class (optional)
Skill level: Choreography is aimed towards beyond-beginner (or novice competitor-level) dancers. Attendees should have a strong grasp of basics and common variations.
Partners are not required
Dancers rotate during the class
Class is great for:
Trying out WCS choreography for the first time
Trying out WCS choreography in one's secondary role
Finding a WCS routine partner
Preparing for a bigger WCS routine thing (Rising Star, ProAm, Choreo Camp, Routintensive, etc.)
About Choreolite
Founded by Lan Voba of Seattle, Choreolite teaches dancers to expand on their basics, develop musicality and performance, and improve precision and control through learning a short piece of west coast swing choreography. If you have a strong grasp of the basics, come and learn in this supportive and encouraging environment! There will be an opportunity to perform (optional) in front of the class at the end.
About Amanda and Henri
Amanda started west coast swing in 2016 and has 20 years of partner dance experience in various disciplines. She loves west coast swing for its unique combination of improvisation and technical depth, and is passionate about empowering people in finding their unique voice and developing skills to have fun and safe dances!
Henry started west coast swing in 2011 after some time dancing salsa and international Latin ballroom. He loves the smoothness of west coast swing and has developed his artistic expression through hip hop and tap dance training.
We can't wait to see what Amanda and Henri have planned for us!
(After the workshop grab some dinner and come back for the dance with DJ JAmes, 8-11 pm. Separate admission at the door, $15.00)
