Andrew took his first dance lesson in 1997 and began teaching soon after in 1998. It was the beginning of both his career, and his partnership with Magda. Together they danced all around the world, and ultimately found a permanent dance home in Walnut Grove in 2005.
As competitors Andrew & Magda were Canadian Ballroom finalists, and as showdancers they worked as the first ballroom dance team on the Queen Mary II. Andrew is a certified member of the Canadian Dancesport Federation in each of Standard, Latin, Smooth and Rhythm.
Jane has always loved dancing and has trained in ballet, jazz and ballroom. Her tremendous energy and expressive style find their perfect outlet in ballroom and Latin dance.
A P.E. Major in university, Jane brings years of teaching experience as an elementary school teacher and a clear, enthusiastic communication style to her classes. Her love of people and dance make Jane a fantastic asset for our studio.
Sharon is the smiling face that welcomes you as you enter the studio! She has been with us for the past 5 years and is the one who will answer your questions, take your payment and register you for your class.
When she is not at the studio, she likes to stay active by walking the Fort to fort, or Houston trail or you may even catch her on the grouse grind. She also enjoys cheering on her daughter and team mates at her volleyball or basketball games.
Trevor is a man of action and movement - a natural on the dancefloor! While he loves all the dances, his favorite dance is the salsa which he is teaching and dancing every chance he gets.
When he isn't moving quickly on the dancefloor you might catch him moving quickly through the air with a parachute on his back, or moving very quickly down the road on his motorcyle, unicycle, spring stilts etc. etc.
Trevor is a a certified member of the Canadian Dancesport Federation in the Core Dances category.
Claire started her dance career at age 8 on the playground where she taught her friends all the latest boy band moves! She is still loving teaching dance, many years later, and particularly enjoys the smiles that light up her students faces when they really "get it".
In addition to her dancing Claire loves to hang out with her kids and her dog and makes amazing desserts and the odd batch of mead.
Claire is a certified member of the Canadian Dancesport Federation in the Core Dances category.
Michelle's passion for dance and attention to detail, coupled with her background in music, theatre and figure skating make her a natural fit as a ballroom dance teacher. Her favorite part of teaching dance is the victory of helping her students overcome their nervousness and apprehension to gain ownership of the figures and ultimately confidence and control on the dancefloor.
Michelle is a certified member of the Canadian Dancesport Federation in the Core Dances category.
Sam has been dancing since 2006 and finds it to be an elegant expression of one’s self, an enjoyable thing to do, good exercise, and a good contrast to his day to day jobs.
Having tutored academically, at high school, university and also at work, teaching dance is a natural extension of both his experience and passion. The enjoyment of transferring knowledge and watching the smile of success on new dancers is what gratifies and inspires him most. Sam’s favorite dances are the Rumba, the Waltz, the Tango, and the Viennese Waltz.
Since 2005, Bobbi has shared the beauty of Argentine tango as a teacher, performer and organizer of tango events.
With a background in folk dance, ballet and ballroom, Bobbi's life was transformed by a Forever Tango video. Inspired, he drove from Chilliwack to Vancouver several days each week to learn and practice. Soon, he progressed to studying with acclaimed tango masters both locally and in Buenos Aires.
Bobbi is a Licentiate Member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) Specialty Dances Division.
Patricia has been dancing almost since she could walk, starting with tap, then jazz, ballet, musical theatre and ballroom.
In 2005, Patricia caught the Argentine tango bug when she was Bobbi's student. A tango proposal and honeymoon in Buenos Aires turned their dance partnership into a life partnership, and Argentine tango into Patricia's vocation.
Patricia is a Licentiate Member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) Specialty Dances Division.
